ㅇ Date: 2–7 September 2024
ㅇ Location: Vanuatu
ㅇ Key Activities:
- Discussed strategies for strengthening the health workforce and fostering innovation for the future of the Asia-Pacific region.
- Adopted the Port Vila Declaration: The Declaration highlighted the human rights of health workers, capacity building, universal health coverage and health security, support for vulnerable populations, digital innovation, and international cooperation.
[Visit to Norway]
ㅇ Date: 11–18 May 2024
ㅇ Purpose: To explore ways to expand Korea’s role in global health
ㅇ Key Activities:
- Discussed international development cooperation and global health policy with the Norwegian Parliament.
- Held consultations with Norad, CEPI, and other international stakeholders on official development assistance (ODA) and pandemic preparedness.
[Visit to Lao PDR]
ㅇ Date: 26–30 March 2024
ㅇ Purpose: To strengthen Korea–Laos cooperation in the healthcare sector
ㅇ Key Activities:
- Discussed parliamentary cooperation on pandemic preparedness and communicable disease control with the National Assembly of Lao PDR.
- Met with health authorities to explore opportunities for cooperation.
- Visited Korean-supported health development cooperation project sites.
