[Visit to Switzerland]
ㅇ Date: 11–16 June 2022
ㅇ Purpose: To establish a foundation for enhanced collaboration with international organizations in strengthening global health security
ㅇ Key Activities: Visited major international health organizations based in Geneva to strengthen cooperation in global health and discuss ways to expand the participation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in global health initiatives.
ㅇ Organizations: World Health Organization (WHO), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Stop TB Partnership, Unitaid, Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND), Gavi, Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), International Council of Nurses (ICN)
[Visit to Bangladesh]
ㅇ Date: 31 October – 5 November 2022
ㅇ Purpose: To strengthen Korea–Bangladesh cooperation in the healthcare sector
ㅇ Key Activities:
- Met with parliamentary committee members to discuss cooperation in the health sector.
- Met with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh on opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
- Visited health-sector cooperation project sites supported by the Republic of Korea, including the Korea-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital and graduate nursing education institutions.
- Conducted a roundtable discussion with representatives of civil society organizations working in the health sector.
